About Phyllis
Founder of Emerging Artist, Rising Stars
Phyllis Johnson worked for 30 years as an International Colour and Colour/Trend Forecasting Directory in the fashion industry, manufacturers, and upscale retailers.
Phyllis’s experience includes research, travel to culturally enriched destinations Paris, London, Hong Kong, Milan, Florence, Barcelona, Egypt, and Peru. Most recently, she has consulted in the prestigious Fine Art world.
Phyllis’s decades of study with a gifted spiritual teacher have inspired this passion for serving as a Spiritual Mentor for creatives.
Since 2013, Phyllis has been the editor/co-founder of the ThePeacockSolution.com. A spiritual blog dedicated to inspiring “The Power of Creativity As a Spiritual Practice.”
Phyllis is also a member of CMG. A premier International Association for Color and Design Professionals.
I bring together a lifetime of experience across both the creative and spiritual worlds.
For over 20 years, I have worked with a gifted spiritual teacher in Sedona and the California desert, developing a deep connection to intuitive and energetic practices.
At the same time, I navigated the corporate world and traveled internationally as an executive in the fashion industry, retail, and manufacturing. My work included global research into colour its cultural meaning, emotional impact, and its role across fashion, accessories, and fine art.
I have explored sacred sites around the world, including Egypt, Machu Picchu, Tonga, Bolivia, France, and Italy, continuing to deepen my understanding of the spiritual and energetic attributes of colour.
Facilitating colour retreats and salons for creatives remains an ongoing passion creating space for exploration, connection, and creative growth.
This perspective shapes how I engage with artists and is what led me to create Emerging Artists, Rising Stars.

It is rooted in the belief that creative work carries energy, intention, and meaning—and that artists deserve to be seen not only for what they create, but for who they are and what they are exploring.
Through interviews, reflections, and curated features, this platform highlights artists across disciplines, offering a closer look at their process, their voice, and the path they are navigating.
The Intention
This project began as a way to slow down and listen more closely.
In a world that often moves quickly past the depth of creative work, Emerging Artists, Rising Stars creates space for conversation where artists can share their thoughts, their influences, and the ideas shaping their work.
It is not about trends or metrics, but about presence, curiosity, and honoring the creative journey.
